Angelina Heino
1919 - 2011

It is with great sadness that we the family inform you of the death of Angelina Heino, 91 years of Grandview Lodge.  Nona passed away peacefully Friday evening July 22, 2011. Angie was a very loving and active woman.  She enjoyed hosting large family gatherings and her house was always open to friends.  In her younger years, she was a very good bowler and liked going to Bingo.  She loved going to her boys’ hockey games and cheering them on, her grandsons included.  Mom was a longtime member of St. Agnes Parish, fifty-six year member of the CWL and had a special devotion to St. Jude which she shared with anyone in need.  On February 8, 1941 she married Waino (Wieners) Heino and they had four children; June Piccolo, Jim (Pat) Heino, Ron (Margaret) Heino, John (JP) (Kerin) Heino.  She is survived by one sister Phil Besignano and three sisters-in-law; Regina Besignano, Aili Arnott, Toronto, Helga Nowak, Scarborough.  She is survived by 11 grandchildren, Tina Pruys (Andy), Jamie Piccolo (Lori), Tammy Cramer (Randy), Robbie Piccolo (Bobbi), Carrie Napolitano (Peter) Australia, Katie Biasiol (Gino), Michael Heino (Kerry), Joanna Power (Michael), Chris Heino (Trisha), Kevin Heino, California, John Heino (Julia); 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her cousins the Bisignano Family.  She was born in the East End of Fort William, on November 22, 1919.  She was the daughter of Dominic and Ursala Rose Besignano.  Predeceased by her parents, her husband Waino, infant son John Dominic, son-in-law Aldo Piccolo, sisters Mary Valvasori and Rose Scopel, brothers Joe, (Jean), Frank (Cecelia), Louis, John (Yvonne) Besignano and infant grandson, Christopher John. Vigil prayers will be Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Agnes Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. James Panikulam. Services will be complete in the church with cremation to follow. Final interment will take place at a later date in the family plot at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.  If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorials to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.


A tree will be planted in memory of Angelina Heino in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 10, 2012.
