Joe was born and raised in Fort William. He grew up in the apartment above the Blake Funeral Chapel (which is now the reception centre), and lived there until after he married and started his family. Joe’s father Louis bought the funeral home from Mr. Blake, and Joe followed in his father’s footsteps, taking it over when Louis passed away. Joe completed his funeral service education through Humber College, obtaining his funeral director’s license in 1974. Joe and his wife have four grown children. He is the Ontario State Deputy for the Knights of Columbus. He is an active member of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. In his free time, he enjoys going to camp, golfing, curling and attending football games.
Craig was born and raised in Fort William. He grew up in Westfort, attended Francis Street, Kingsway Park and Selkirk High Schools. Craig completed his Funeral Education and attained his Funeral Director’s License in 1973. He has three grown children and five grandchildren. Craig is a member of the Ontario Funeral Service Association, active member of his church and a member of the Fort William Rotary Club. When time permits he enjoys going to the family camp and golfing. He also enjoys going for runs with his dog. Having lived here his entire life, he has had the privilege of serving many of his friends and family throughout the years.
Family Care & Pre-Planning Director
Phil has a wide range of experience in funeral service, serving families for over forty years. He is married with four grown children and nine grandchildren. He is a past chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, past Secretary and past Director of the Northern Cancer Research Foundation and an active member of his church. Phil has been with the Blake Funeral Chapel for twelve years and is now the Family Care and Pre-Planning Director.
