Enrica passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Bethammi Nursing Home, at the age of 92, where she lived for the last nine years. Enrica was born in Sarone, a little village in northern Italy, the youngest of six children. She grew up during hard times and went off to work at the age of thirteen to help her widowed mother. Enrica was a young bride when she came to Canada. She was the only one in her family to leave Italy and missed everyone dearly. However, she and her husband, Louis enjoyed many trips back "home" to visit family and friends. Enrica was a stay at home mom. Her girls, Nadia and Edda meant everything to her. Her illness caused her to forget grandchildren, but she was a big part and influence in their lives. In younger years, Matthew and Lauren spent many happy times and sleep overs at their "Nonnie's" house. Enrica was a very talented lady. She was good at any craft she tried. She was an accomplished seamstress and took in sewing at home. Enrica also had a green thumb. All plants flourished under her care. The entire yard on Crawford Ave. where she resided for many years was one large vegetable and flower garden. Family and friends were always welcome in her home and no one could leave without sampling her delicious baking or five star meal. Enrica also enjoyed her work with the Ladie's Venet Society, in particular the annual Carnival Tea. Enrica was predeceased by her husband Louis of fifty years and many relatives in Italy. She leaves behind to mourn, daughters Nadia (Jim Thatcher), Edda (Peter Lenardon), grandson Matt (Aimee Thatcher), Granddaughter Lauren (Tyler Renelt) and great grandson, Rand Reinelt. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blake Funeral Chapel. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be held on Monday at the Blake Funeral Chapel from 10:30 until time of service. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
Enrica Dolcetti will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 9, 2019.
