Mrs. Joyce Carol Wooler (nee King) passed away peacefully at Pinewood Nursing Home on September 5, 2018. Joyce was born in Stratford, Ontario, on September 27, 1924 to Chester and Edith King. Joyce, at an early age, moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba with her family and was raised and educated there. She worked at Canada Packers where she met the love of her life William (Bill) Wooler. Bill was transferred to Fort William in 1948 and shortly after Joyce and Bill were married on October 6, 1948. Joyce provided a loving home for her family, cared for and loved them throughout her entire life. Joyce was an active member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church since 1948 serving as president of the A.C.W. and as a church warden. She was an avid bridge player, loved reading and doing crossword puzzles or just relaxing in her yard. Mom loved football especially her “Winnipeg Blue Bombers” and could be heard throughout the house cheering them on! She also looked forward to Saturday night’s out with friend Muriel for dinner and a movie and a glass of wine or two! Joyce is survived by her sons Tom, John (Charlotte) and Alan (Laureen). Loving Grandma of Erin (Allan) Caplan and Jennifer (Chris) Foster. Great Grandmother to Sara, Madeline and Jack. As well as her sister-in -law Eileen King and nephews Bruce, Ken and Randy King. She was predeceased by her parents Chester and Edith King, husband Bill, sister Winnifred, and brothers Jack and Harold. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at St. Paul's Anglican Church at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Hummingbird Unit in Pinewood Court for their loving care of Joyce over the years.
Joyce Wooler will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 9, 2019.
