It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas H. Pelletier (Butch), after a long and courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, March 30th 2018, at home with loving and caring family by his side, at the age of 73.  Born on February 8th, 1945 in Fort William, he was a lifelong resident of Fort William First Nation.
He attended Selkirk High School, but left to pursue work at the age of 14. He was a hard-working man with a strong work ethic.  He was a great welder and builder, having built a house for his four children.  He always kept busy fixing things and was very frustrated when he was unable to keep busy around the house.  He worked for the Elevator “D”, Canada Malting, various pipeline projects through the Operating Engineers Union, Fort William First Nation Maintenance Man/Public Works also serving as a Band Councillor, and most recently the owner of THP Variety and Gas Bar.
He was a devoted husband, son, brother, father, grampa and great grampa and he will be deeply missed by his wife Linda of 51 years (nee Morriseau), daughters Trudy (Kevin), Connie (Len), and son Rory, daughter in law, Traci.  Grandchildren Serena Pelletier (Jesse), Jake, Robert, and Tyson Waller, Mitchell and Chad Charlie, Casey and Coral Pelletier, Ethan Pelletier, Brittany (Ryan) and Chris Dziurda, and Jenna, Great grandchildren Serenity, Preston and Cooper, Chaseylyn and Olivia.  Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren, sisters and brothers also survive.
He was predeceased by his youngest son Trevor (1999), oldest son Harold “Harry” (2016), parents Francis Pelletier, Martin Bannon Sr and Lyla Bannon, in-laws Bernard and Lila Morriseau.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing and working on his classic cars that he loved so much.  He loved spending time with his family, who was there with him at home, just the way he wanted it.  He was a very kind and generous man and was well liked and respected by many people.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 4th at 10:00 am, when family and friends will gather for mass at St. Anne's Church, celebrated by Rev. Larry Kroker s.j.  Prayers will be offered on Tuesday, April 3rd at 7:00 pm at St. Anne's Church.  Private family interment will take place at a later date in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
