Even though you may arrange and pay for your funeral prior to passing, your legal representative may, by law, change your pre-arranged funeral at his/her discretion. It is important to appoint an administrator in your will whom you can trust to fulfill your wishes.
Statistical information about the individual, as well as his/her funeral wishes, are collected and kept on file at the funeral home.
Payment may be made in full or in installments.
All pre-paid monies are placed in a interest bearing trust account.
Pre-paid funeral prices are guaranteed, which means once the costs of the services and supplies chosen are paid, your next of kin will not need to pay any extra if there is not enough interest to cover the present day costs.
If the total in the account is more than the present day costs for the services and supplies, the next of kin may approve that the excess money be used for disbursements such as obituary notices, church honourariums, cemetery costs, etc…
Pre-paid contracts may be changed, cancelled or transferred to another funeral home at any time, by written request of the purchaser, legal representative or other person named in the contract.
If the purchaser cancels within 30 days of entering into the contract, they are entitled to a full refund.
If the purchaser cancels after 30 days from entering into the contract, all money paid, minus 10% for administration fees (up to a maximum of $350) may be returned.
